2014 RACING SEASON
1-11-14
Hurricane had their awards banquet today, and Steven received his plaque for the JR1 championship. They also ran some fun events, including drag racing that Steven won.
3-8-14
I don't have any pictures from this raceday, but Steven finished 4'th and Christian didn't run.
4-5-14
Both Christian and Steven were back in action today.
Christian had a good day. He spent much of the afternoon playing frisbee and running around with the other kids, but then he ended up second in his feature that had 5 karts in it. He was going pretty well!
Steven also finished second in a very competitive race. There were 6 in JR2 tonight, and they went at it hard all day.
We ended up in Waffle House at night!

Orlando Speedworld!
Steven made his first Bandolero start tonight and finished 3'rd. Although there were only 4 in the race, he improved every time he went out, and by the end of the race was running 0.3 seconds off the winners pace. A very good start and a very enjoyable night!

We interrupt this season for a broken knee cap.
The is the first broken bone in our family. Steven had an accident on his mini bike today, and will be out of action for a few months.
6-20-14
It has taken us almost 2 months, but Steven was back in action at Speedworld tonight. He ran the "4 RENT" Bandolero, and finished second. He was so happy to be back in action, but we didn't get any pictures.
7-12-14
We made our first trip to Ambassador Racing today. This was Christian's first pavement start, and Steven's second. After waiting out a monsoon in the afternoon, we finally got down to racing.
Christian really took to it! He won the heat, and went from third in the feature to the lead, then drove away.
Steven went well too, but finished second in his class.
This was Christian's epic post-victory speech!

The Inverness Grand Prix!
What a fun weekend. Friday night featured a big street party, including a concert by "Big Engine". Race day was very wet and rainy; its amazing that they got the races in at all. Some of these pictures were taken during track drying, because they struggled with intermittent showers.
After a little practice, the heat races were cancelled and they went straight into features. Steven's race was exciting! He battled it out for the win most of the way. In fact, the main competition had a much stronger engine (there was no tech), so Steven would eat that guy up in the corners, just to see him drive away again on the long straights. It was a tremendous battle, that the announcer and fans loved!
We got crashed in the last lap while working through lapped traffic, and ended up 3'rd. Oh well, his first try at road racing was a ton of fun, so we are headed back again next year.
Our final race of the year was supposed to be in a mini cup at Orlando, but it rained out. The only winner on our team in 2014 was Christian at Ambassador. Although we had some fun nights, there were also lots of delays and rain.....so on to a better 2015!
